The Accounting Department establishes corporate accounting policies and practices to ensure that EBSCO Industries’ accounting structure remains sound. A competitive business environment requires accurate and prompt management accounting to provide a base for management decisions to solidify the company for future growth and direction.
The Chief Accounting Officer oversees EBSCO’s accounting functions such as monthly financial reports for each profit center, analysis of variances, and the Annual Report. These functions provide the necessary financial information to each profit and service center for current and future decision making.
Accounting is also responsible for Payroll, which ensures payment to employees located throughout the United States, and maintains the Profit Sharing Trust records for participating EBSCO employees.
The centralized Accounts Payable Department makes timely payment to EBSCO Industries’ many suppliers located throughout the world. Care and diligence must be shown as each payment is issued to protect the company’s relationships with vendors and ensure prompt payments.
The Accounts Receivable Department ensures the timely and correct processing of all reports for EBSCO Information Services. The multi-currency Accounts Receivable Department provides information to EBSCO’s international offices in their local currencies and monitors changing exchange rates.
