Helping homeowners make informed choices in home services contractors

Founded in 1997 by Walt Jenkins, EBSCO Research LLC, formerly Probix LLC, is an independent research firm that currently publishes Home Reports in the Atlanta area and Best Pick Reports in Chicago. The idea for the publications came to Jenkins after hearing his friends and family recount their frustrations trying to find and hire quality home service companies in Atlanta. EBSCO Research solves this problem by evaluating and documenting the performance of home service providers and supplying homeowners with the information they need to make informed decisions.

EBSCO Research annually conducts thousands of telephone interviews with homeowners who have had recent experiences with local home improvement or home repair contractors. Home service providers that receive overwhelmingly positive reviews are eligible for Best Pick™ status. Companies cannot buy this distinction; the only way a company can obtain a good rating is by earning it based on a minimum of 100 reviews in the research database. Qualifying Best Picks who choose to participate in the program are then showcased in the annual print publications as well as online.
