Providing books to more than 2,000 schools

Publishers’ Warehouse is a warehouse and shipping agent for major American publishers who supply textbooks to Alabama school systems. The state of Alabama contracts with publishers to provide textbooks and allocates funds to the individual school systems to purchase the textbooks selected. Publishers’ Warehouse serves publishers by forecasting needs and storing and delivering books more efficiently than publishers can do themselves. The division serves as a liaison between school systems and thousands of textbook customers, helping to ensure timely delivery of textbooks to schools.

With a staff of approximately 25, Publishers’ Warehouse issues books to some 2,000 schools from a 120,000-square-foot warehouse near Birmingham, Alabama. Publishers’ Warehouse reliably handles and distributes approximately two million textbooks annually, representing 60 different publishers and 10,000 titles.
