Over the next five years, J.M. Stewart (also known as Stewart Signs) will be providing Florida’s Pinellas County school district with 180 LED signs as part of a multi-million dollar contract.

Steven Knoten, senior sign consultant for J.M. Stewart, secured the Pinellas County contract after nearly a year of work. Knoten originally proposed the concept of a district-wide bid to the Pinellas County district.
“[Pinellas County] did not entertain the idea very much at first,” Assistant Marketing Manager Christine Mercado said. “They finally came back to J.M. Stewart when they had problems dealing with multiple vendors. They had one vendor for installation, another for software for the sign and yet another for support and service.”

The all-in-one service that J.M. Stewart offers customers eventually won the school district over and resulted in J.M. Stewart’s first district-wide account. Since winning the bid, nine signs have been sold. By the end of the five-year contract, J.M. Stewart will have installed 180 LED signs across Pinellas County, the 22nd-largest school district in the nation and the seventh largest in the state of Florida.

J.M. Stewart is pursuing similar projects in major cities, including Chicago and New York City.

J.M. Stewart is the largest provider of school signs and the largest sign company in the nation. Additional information on J.M. Stewart and its product lines can be found at www.stewartsigns.com.
