Huntington Learning Center Helps Offset School and Public Library Budget Cuts with Free Reading Service
In response to recent budget cuts, Huntington Learning Center has agreed to sponsor reading services to Cathedral, Sauk Rapids/Rice and Sartell High Schools to provide students with magazines and popular periodicals that otherwise would not be available to them.

School librarians have chosen reading services that will provide each with nine magazines of interest to students along with protective binders – magazines the library would not have been able to afford without assistance from Huntington.

Huntington chose to sponsor the program for two years as a community service to support local schools. Each magazine binder cover recognizes Huntington’s contribution by listing contact information and a brief message. The binders may also be equipped with educational inserts and public service messages to benefit students.
This sponsorship was made possible by EBSCO Professional Partnership Group (EPPG). EPPG works to identify under-funded schools and public libraries and partner them with professional sponsors who wish to support education in their communities. EPPG initiated this program to provide libraries and schools with periodicals to supplement their existing collections at no additional cost to them.

If you would like more information about this program, or if you would like to sponsor the program at a school or library, you can contact EPPG’s local representative, Garmon Tipka, at (877) 262-7032 ext. 7241.
