Get Cash Awards for Your Ingenuity with ProgressThroughIdeas
Engineering. We’re not talking about a nerd with a pocket protector and slide rule or a person blowing a loud steam whistle and driving a locomotive… EBSCO defines Engineering as identifying and developing ways to realize opportunities for positive change.
Positive change: reduced costs, increased output and saved time are all examples of positive change. What can you do to bring about change in your job? All you need is a little creativity and an open mind.
New ideas: If you have an idea, discuss it with your supervisor. If you are able to implement your idea and demonstrate a positive change, submit the idea to your general manager. General managers select the best ideas to be considered for cash awards twice a year.
Rewards: EBSCO has set an open-ended annual budget for PTI awards because the company recognizes that better ways pay and the value of employees who know their jobs so well they can find better ways to do them. Doing so benefits everyone by increasing the company’s profitability, which means increased profit sharing and resources to do our jobs.
Twice yearly awards: Awards are submitted to International Headquarters twice a year. Over the past two years, EBSCO employees have received more than $28,000 in awards. We’re a long way from awarding as much as possible, so put on your thinking cap and make it a part of your job to constantly be on the lookout for ways to improve!
Basic rules:
