Grand View Media Grabs Four GAMMA Awards

Grand View Media Group (GVMG) recently won three Gold and one Bronze at the 18th Annual GAMMA Awards held in Atlanta in May. Hosted by the Magazine Association of the Southeast (MAGS), the GAMMA Award recognizes editorial and design excellence in magazine publishing as judged by an elite group of magazine editors and designers.

GVMG received awards for Pro Bull Ridermagazine, Waterfowl & Retriever magazine,Processing magazine and Processingmagazine’s Web site. Accepting the awards for Grand View were Hilary Mizelle, editor of Pro Bull Rider magazine and Waterfowl & Retriever magazine; James Armstrong, art director,Processing magazine; and Tod Molina, art director, Pro Bull Rider magazine. 

Processing won the Gold Award for “Best Magazine Web site” and a Bronze Award for “Best Single Cover” for its Powder Handling Solutions spring 2007 cover, both in the business-to-business category.

This is the second year in a row the Powder Handling Solutions supplement cover has been recognized for excellence. The spring 2006 cover won a TABBIE Award from Trade Association Business Publications International in 2007.

Waterfowl & Retriever received a Gold GAMMA Award for best content, writing and design for the Best Single Issue Category (publications printed three times per year or less). The Gold GAMMA is awarded to an issue that “exemplifies the best of a magazine’s content, writing and design in a manner well-targeted to readership and mission.” Waterfowl & Retriever magazine is published for avid duck and goose hunters and features the most cutting-edge information for the dedicated hunter.

Pro Bull Rider took home the Gold GAMMA Award for Best Redesign. This award recognizes improvement in “publication organization, content and design, originality and appropriateness to the audience.” Pro Bull Rideris the most authentic bull riding magazine, and cowboys crave its informative and entertaining articles.
