S.S. Nesbitt Expands Benefits Offerings

S.S. Nesbitt’s (SSN) benefits team is expanding services offered to commercial clients for employee benefits. Cooper Johnson has been named the practice leader of this health and welfare initiative. “Some of our small to middle market clients don’t have a full human resources (HR) team like we have at EBSCO,” Johnson explained. “They need assistance on basic HR questions as it relates to their benefit plans.”

Cindy Doty, HR Consultant and Account Manager, recently joined the benefits team to offer a new level of consulting services. With more than 24 years of HR management related experience, Doty is available to research HR related issues, answer their questions, and alert them to significant HR trends and legal developments. “She is also available to provide HR guidance as a mentor when needed,” Johnson added. 

S.S. Nesbitt negotiates with insurers to secure the most favorable rates and terms for clients" plans, but it doesn"t stop there. They provide ongoing assistance with enrollment meetings, including a variety of materials to assist in communicating the benefits to employees and providing ongoing customer service to resolve any claim issue.
