This past January, developers from EBSCO offices across the U.S. convened for the company’s first-ever Hackathon. The two-day event brought together 35 of EBSCO’s 500 developers, organized them into teams, and let the coding begin. The Hackathon was intended to bring developers together, have them present an idea that would be beneficial to the company and its customers, spend two days with a team developing these ideas, and then present their work to the group. With numerous ideas generated, organizers expect the Hackathon will be expanded to other teams, becoming more than a one-time event. “The potential for growth and creativity is massive and by exposing developers to one another in a new way—having them provide the inspiration and leveraging that teamwork and passion—the goal is to provide a place where individual developers can come together to creative innotative new technologies for EBSCO Information Services.” Read the full story on EBSCO’s Hackathon Event.
